Junior Graduate Geologist / Geo-Environmental Scientist, Cardiff

The Cardiff Office of Johnson Poole and Bloomer Limited have a vacancy for a Junior Geologist / Geo-Environmental Scientist.

The post would suite newly qualified Graduates in Geology and Earth based Geo-Environmental Sciences.

Duties would involve carrying out archival searches of land use plans, geological maps and environmental databases, groundwater and ground gas monitoring on site and supervision of site investigation works and report writing.

The successful applicant would be given training in the preparation of factual and interpretative report writing with a view to developing their technical and report writing skills to progress to managing individual projects.

Qualifications

Applicants would be expected to have Degree in Geology, Applied Earth Science or Environmental Geo-Science.

A full, clean UK driving licence is essential.

Salary

Negotiable (to be discussed at interview)

Hours

Monday – Thursday 8.30am – 4.45pm; Friday 8.30 – 4.15pm; but flexible to meet site working requirements.

Geoenvironmental Technician, Glasgow

A full time Geoenvironmental technician is required to assist our busy geotechnical team based in Glasgow.

Duties and key responsibilities include:

  • Undertaking gas and water monitoring.
  • Undertaking soakaway tests
  • Assisting with carrying out topographical surveys utilising
  • Produce and process accurate data collection.

The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience undertaking site work and using Word, Excel and AutoCAD.  A degree in earth sciences would be an advantage.

The successful candidate must have a full UK driving license and for non UK nationals a UK worker visa.
